AMD Announces Fastest Gaming Processor with New AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Desktop Processor Lineup
We just watched AMD’s stream of the launch of Ryzen 5000 series of desktop CPUs and we are seriously impressed. The new Zen 3 lineup looks absolutely awesome. The Ryzen 9 5900X ($549/12-core) and Ryzen 9 5950X ($799/16-core) – at up to 4.9GHz – should beat Intel’s best in gaming. I am looking forward to buying the 5950X, and am beyond eager to dump my power-hog 10900K to feature a better all-round CPU.
Dr. Lisa Su also teased a new Radeon RX 6000 which averages 61 FPS on Borderlands 3 at Badass/4K settings. This is impressive considering that the RTX 3090 averages only a bit higher at the same settings in the same benchmark using an overclocked i9-10900K. We can’t wait to test it! Here is AMD’s press release:
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – October 8, 2020 – Today, AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) introduced the highly anticipated AMD Ryzen 5000 Series desktop processor lineup powered by the new “Zen 3” architecture.
