Conclusion

For the Blackwell RTX 50 series launch, NVIDIA strategically chose to introduce their flagship model first, launching the GeForce RTX 5090 ahead of other models to set a high benchmark in performance. Following this release, other models like the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 are set to be launched, all of which we assume will also be impressive with DLSS 4 and their new design. The RTX 5090 remains the pinnacle in terms of raw power and capabilities and is in a class of its own, alongside its high price tag.

The RTX 5090’s launch price of $2000 might be seen as prohibitively high, a reflection of both its leading-edge technology and external economic factors like future tariffs that can exacerbate costs for consumers. While enthusiasts who demand the very best performance may find the price justifiable, we hope for more accessible pricing to allow a broader audience to experience this top-tier technology. The pricing strategy, influenced by challenging market conditions, unfortunately puts these remarkable advancements out of reach for many, but NVIDIA continues to push the envelope, offering unmatched performance that hardcore gamers and professionals will surely appreciate despite the steep investment.

The RTX 5090, built on the AD102 graphics processor, represents a significant leap in technology as the world’s first 5-nanometer GPU crafted at TSMC Taiwan. With 16384 GPU cores activated, the RTX 5090 achieves substantial performance gains, not just by boosting numbers but by enhancing the intelligence of its units. The advancements include a massive increase in L2 cache to 72 MB from 6 MB, and numerous enhancements to ray tracing cores that provide features like shader execution reordering and opacity tests. One of the most revolutionary features introduced with this generation is DLSS 4, which leverages deep learning to interpolate frames, effectively doubling the frame rate in supported scenarios. This not only smooths out gameplay but also enhances visual fidelity, making it a groundbreaking feature for gamers and professional users alike.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition’s powerful performance make it an essential upgrade for enthusiasts and professionals aiming to push the limits of what’s possible in their digital environments. Purists will not enjoy DLSS 4 and will want a much larger raw performance jump, but for those that do the performance uplift will make you drop your jaw just like it did to ours. We remember titles like Hogwarts Legacy having performance issues at launch and with DLSS 4 enabled we saw incredibly high gains of 301.6 AI generated FPS performance difference over its raw power. Nothing can replace proper optimization but expanding the capabilities of a game to perform in such large amounts is amazing.

If the pricing makes this out of reach for you, that is completely understandable and we feel the 70 class of cards will again be the king in pricing and performance increases this generation. This is the top of the class and we hope for more competition from AMD and even Intel soon, as of right now there is nothing coming close to this. Happy gaming!
