NVIDIA Unleashes Major GeForce NOW and RTX Updates Ahead of Gamescom 2025

On the eve of Gamescom 2025, NVIDIA has unveiled a series of high-impact updates that redefine the landscape for GeForce NOW, GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, and PC modding. From DLSS 4 proliferation to RTX Remix modding rewards, this year’s announcements highlight the company’s commitment to pushing boundaries in cloud gaming, AI-assisted gameplay, and immersive graphics.

Blackwell-Powered GeForce NOW: 5K, 120FPS, and Cinematic Quality Streaming

The biggest reveal is the arrival of NVIDIA’s next-gen Blackwell architecture to GeForce NOW. The platform will now offer RTX 5080-class performance in the cloud, delivering DLSS 4’s Multi-Frame Generation, AI-powered streaming up to 5K at 120 FPS, and a new Cinematic Quality Streaming mode boasting sharper colors and crystal-clear visuals.

Highlights include:

  • Doubling the game library to over 4,500 titles via the new Install-to-Play model.
  • Expanded hardware support, including:
    • Racing wheel compatibility
    • Up to 90fps performance on Steam Deck
    • 4K at 120Hz on supported LG TVs
  • A new Discord and Epic Games collaboration lets Fortnite players invite friends to one-hour free GeForce NOW trials directly via Discord.

DLSS 4 Hits 175+ Titles and Expands Further

With over 175 games and apps now featuring DLSS 4, NVIDIA’s upscaling technology is accelerating performance gains across multiple RTX generations. DLSS 4’s Multi-Frame Generation can generate up to 3 extra frames per rendered frame, boosting frame rates by up to 8x on RTX 50 Series hardware.

Players using RTX 40 Series GPUs also benefit from DLSS Frame Generation, while DLSS Super Resolution and its transformer AI model enhance image fidelity across all RTX GPUs.

Borderlands 4 Bundle With GeForce RTX 50 Series

In partnership with Gearbox, NVIDIA is bundling Borderlands® 4 and the Gilded Glory Pack with the purchase of select RTX 50 Series GPUs, including:

  • RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, 5070
  • Laptops equipped with any of the above

The Gilded Glory Pack includes cosmetics for all four Vault Hunters, weapons, and an ECHO-4 drone skin. The promotion runs through September 22.

NVIDIA App Overhaul: DLSS Overrides, G-Assist, Smooth Motion & More

Launching August 19 at 9 AM PT, the updated NVIDIA app beta introduces a slew of user-requested features:

  • Global DLSS overrides
  • Smooth Motion support for RTX 40 Series
  • Enhanced NVIDIA Surround setup
  • Revamped 3D settings migration from the Control Panel

The star of the update is Project G-Assist, which now runs on 40% less memory, supports RTX GPUs with 6GB+ VRAM, and includes voice and text-based PC optimization commands.

Verified Priority Access Expands to Europe

NVIDIA is now bringing its Verified Priority Access (VPA) program to France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK, allowing gamers to purchase RTX 50 Series Founders Edition GPUs at MSRP directly from NVIDIA.

Closing out the announcements, NVIDIA revealed the winners of its $50,000 RTX Remix Mod Contest, which challenged modders to enhance classic games using RTX Remix.
