Fans of neon-noir police thrillers are in for a treat as the highly anticipated game The Precinct gears up for a demo release on October 14, 2024, as part of Steam Next Fest. Developed by Fallen Tree Games and published by Kwalee, The Precinct is set in a gritty, 1980s-inspired city and combines action, crime-solving, and a sandbox police simulation.

In a collaboration between Kwalee, Fallen Tree Games, and French publisher Microids, a physical release has been confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with further details to be announced. The partnership ensures that The Precinct will reach a global audience through retail distribution.

A Neon-Noir Crime Experience

The Precinct places players in the shoes of Nick Cordell Jr., a rookie cop navigating the dark and decaying streets of Averno City. Set in 1980s America, players must deal with crime, police corruption, and urban decay as they try to restore order. Players can respond to an array of procedurally-generated crimes, from minor infractions to high-stakes heists, in a living, dynamic city.

As players dive deeper into Averno’s crime-ridden streets, they will also uncover the mystery behind Nick’s father’s murder while engaging in thrilling car chases, shootouts, and tactical decision-making.

Unique Features

The Precinct draws inspiration from classic cop films, delivering an experience where players can patrol the city, engage in high-speed pursuits, and tackle a wide range of criminal activities. The game features a robust support system, allowing players to call for backup, set roadblocks, and utilize advanced police tactics. Set against a backdrop of neon-lit streets and rain-soaked alleyways, the game offers a visually immersive experience with a day/night cycle and dynamic weather conditions.
