AMD Introduces the Radeon RX 6600 XT Graphics Card – A New Standard for 1080p Gaming

Our friends at AMD have just launched the RX 6600 XT for 1080P gaming at ChinaJoy 2021. We hope to bring BTR’s readers an in-depth review of the card when it is available. It looks to be a competitor to the RTX 3060. Here is their press release:

Today, at ChinaJoy 2021, AMD introduced the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card, designed to deliver the ultimate high-framerate, high-fidelity and highly responsive 1080p gaming experience.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is built on breakthrough AMD RDNA 2 architecture, offering 32MB of AMD Infinity Cache and 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and bringing advance features mainstream gamers to meet the ever-increasing demands of modern games, including:

  • AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution – An open-source spatial upscaling technology for game developers that offers up to 2.4X higher performance on average in “Performance Mode” compared to native 4K in select titles. FSR is supported on a wide range AMD processors and GPUs, as well as competitor GPUs.
  • AMD Smart Access Memory (SAM) – When pairing Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics with AMD Ryzen 5000 or select Ryzen 3000 Series Desktop Processors and AMD 500-series motherboards, SAM provides Ryzen processors with access to the GPU’s entire high-speed GDDR6 memory to deliver a significant performance uplift in select titles.
  • Other advanced capabilities, including DirectX 12 Ultimate Support, AMD Radeon Anti-Lag and AMD Radeon Boost enable the new graphics card to deliver visually stunning, high-performance and highly responsive 1080p gaming experiences.

Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics cards are expected to available from AMD board partners including ASRock, ASUS, Biostar, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, SAPPHIRE, XFX and Yeston at global etailers/retailers beginning August 11, 2021, for an SEP of $379 USD. Pre-built systems from OEMs and system integrators are expected to be available beginning in August 2021
